About the Sag Harbor Tree Fund
The Sag Harbor Tree Fund was founded to preserve and replenish the urban forest, and the trees that line the streets of this historic whaling and resort community.

What We Do
The Sag Harbor Tree Fund plants trees along village streets to replace those lost to storms, disease, or old age. The plantings follow the Village Tree Plan, co-created by the Sag Harbor Tree Fund and the Village Planning Board and Highway Department.
How We Do It
We raise funds through grants and donations from community members, the Village of Sag Harbor, and other organizations.
What We’re Working On
The Sag Harbor Tree Fund will:
continue the Street Tree Inventory undertaken by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation forester John Clancy, documenting the number, species, condition, and age of all our trees
label historic and unusual trees for public education, adding interest to the village’s walking and house tours
continue planting trees throughout the village
